What you'll be able to do

  • Trace a packet end to end — from your NIC through routers, ISPs, and autonomous systems to a server on another continent.
  • Map any network problem or protocol to the OSI and TCP/IP layers and troubleshoot it methodically.
  • Explain DNS resolution in detail and recognize cache poisoning, DGA malware, and DNS-based DDoS in the wild.
  • Read HTTP requests, responses, status codes, and security headers like a practitioner, and explain what TLS actually guarantees.
  • Design layered network defenses using firewalls, segmentation, NAT, DMZs, and IDS/IPS.
  • Assess Wi-Fi and wireless risk across WEP through WPA3, and name the attacks that break each one.
